Integrating Yourself With Your College’s Culture
Many college freshmen are not very involved when first come to college. They don’t know what to expect and they don’t research all the groups and organizations that can help them with their academics and their networking. Sometimes, it’s due to inexperience, but most of the time, it’s because college freshmen are lazy. Don’t let this happen to you. Exploring your campus during your first year will give you a leg up the rest of your college career. You might want to join a sorority or fraternity. You might want to sit in on the investors club meeting. And you might want to join a study group for the foreign language they are making you learn. These are all things that are available to every freshman, but some choose to do things alone.
This is a mistake. Having help and making academics a team sport will make college life much easier. Using all the resources available to you, like the library, and your fellow students, will better your grades while making learning more fun. So don that fraternity apparel and pledge your first year. Utilize all the organizations around campus and you will succeed while having the time of your life.
